Meeting Minutes
August 9th, 2018
I. Call to order: 3:05 p.m.
Roll Call - Members Present: Teresa Conowal, Hillary Mullinax, Will Baldwin, Amanda Sheffield, Carolyn Wright, Kara Zajac

*Election of officers- Chairman- Will Baldwin (motion by AS, 2nd by KZ)
Vice Chair- Amanda Sheffield (motion by WB, 2nd by KZ)
*Welcome Letter presented and link for required training was given.
*Student enrollment numbers presented (monitoring 5th grade volume closely; higher volume of out of
county/district students speaks well of KES)
*School Improvement Focus: reading and writing proficiency, student tracking, and home-school
communication
*Student Success Binder- chance for student-driven accountability and progress tracking (also will have
Remind app and Schoology portal information included)
*Dates for future meetings- 1st Tuesday of the month- appx. 3pm
*Hoop House Update- Ms. Wright provided Grand Opening information including date (Friday, Sept.
14th), partnerships (DCHS Ag and landscaping classes, Home Depot, State Farm, etc), and
initial plans (herbs in pots, raised beds, hydroponics, etc)
*Other updates- STEM/Robotics interventions in Sept., PAWS store going to E-Paws.
